The inaugural Capital and Legacy Forum will be held in Nairobi on 10 November, bringing together family offices, ultra-high-net-worth principals and the advisers who serve them for a closed, peer-to-peer meeting on succession and generational wealth transfer. The year is 2026.

The forum is hosted by API Events at KOFISI Kaskazi in the Kenyan capital, and was founded in partnership with two private wealth specialists. Its stated audience is wealth principals, family office directors and chief investment officers from across the region, alongside the trustees, lawyers, tax advisers and private bankers who work with them.

The programme is built around four themes: harnessing capital for opportunity and growth, preserving wealth across generations, governance and succession structures, and the multi-jurisdictional tax and legal questions that follow families whose assets sit in several countries at once. The format is panel discussions, fireside chats and one-to-one sessions rather than a product exhibition.

The timing reflects a genuine shift in who controls African capital. A generation of post-independence and post-liberalisation founders is beginning to hand over operating businesses and investment portfolios, and the institutions built to serve them are newer than the fortunes themselves. Nairobi has become the natural venue for that conversation, with a concentration of regional family offices, fund administrators and advisory firms that few other African cities can match.

Registration and the full agenda are available from the organiser.
