AjbanEx, the Ajban Defence Industry and Technology Exhibition, is held at ADNEC Centre Abu Dhabi in the United Arab Emirates on Monday 21 September 2026 and Tuesday 22 September 2026. The two day exhibition adds a further defence industry date to a venue that already anchors the Emirati defence calendar, and it falls in a month that is unusually busy for Abu Dhabi conference and exhibition business.
ADNEC Centre Abu Dhabi is the established home of the major defence exhibitions of the United Arab Emirates, including the International Defence Exhibition and Conference and the Unmanned Systems Exhibition and Conference. Those events run on multi year cycles and draw delegations at head of state and chief of defence staff level. A shorter, more focused exhibition held between them gives suppliers and national programme offices a working forum without the scale and protocol demands of the flagship shows.
Defence industry exhibitions serve a specific commercial function. They are where prime contractors, system integrators, component suppliers and specialist technology firms meet procurement authorities, armed forces technical branches and each other. Much of the value sits in supply chain formation, since offset and localisation requirements in the Gulf oblige international primes to place work with domestic partners, and exhibitions are the most efficient place to identify those partners.
For senior executives the Emirati defence market is significant for two reasons beyond direct procurement. The first is industrial policy. The United Arab Emirates has spent the past decade consolidating and building a domestic defence manufacturing base, and access to that market increasingly depends on local manufacturing, joint ventures or technology transfer rather than on export sales alone. The second is adjacency. Technologies developed for defence customers, particularly in unmanned systems, sensing, secure communications and autonomy, carry across into energy, logistics, critical infrastructure protection and civil aviation, which widens the relevant audience well beyond defence specialists.
Executives in engineering, advanced manufacturing, aerospace and industrial technology therefore have reason to track what is shown and who is present, even where their own business is not defence facing.
