Prof. Badr El Din Ibrahim

Prof. Badr El Din Ibrahim was appointed Acting Chief Executive Officer of Ebdaa Bahrain Microfinance in April 2026, a microfinance institution that is part of the Arab Gulf Program for Development (AGFUND). He holds a bachelor's degree in economics with Honours from the University of Khartoum, as well as a Master's degree and PhD from the University of Manchester, United Kingdom. A distinguished economist, Prof Badr brings extensive leadership, academic and practical experience, as well as a strong strategic perspective that will support the company in responding to the evolving dynamics of the financial sector.

Professor Ibrahim has authored a collection of books in the field of microfinance, financial inclusion and micro-enterprises, with publications printed in England, America, Germany, Saudi Arabia and Sudan. He also has a large portfolio of papers published in international magazines in England, Germany, Canada, Egypt, India, Pakistan and Sudan. He is a former board member of microfinance institutions including the Family Bank for Microfinance in Sudan, the Sudan Rural Development Foundation and the National Foundation for Microfinance, Sudan.
