Robert Kolosits has been appointed General Manager of Erth Hospitality, the catering division of Erth Abu Dhabi, the luxury resort and hospitality facility located near the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque. Kolosits, who brings over three decades of experience in the food and beverage industry, takes on the role at a time when Erth Hospitality is expanding its market presence across government, military, energy and healthcare sectors in the UAE. The company did not disclose an effective date for the appointment but confirmed the move has been made.
Clarke Tomlinson, Chief Operating Officer of Erth Abu Dhabi, endorsed the appointment in a statement provided by the company. Tomlinson, who was promoted to COO in July 2025 and joined Erth in 2023, cited Kolosits's breadth of experience and background in multi-site catering operations as key reasons for the hire. Kolosits will report directly to Tomlinson, whose career spans high-volume contract catering, Michelin-starred restaurants, luxury five-star hotels and international airport lounges. The company did not indicate whether a search firm was involved in identifying the candidate.
Kolosits's professional trajectory reflects a progression through increasingly senior roles in hospitality and catering management. He served as Sector General Manager at Abu Dhabi National Hotels, overseeing operations and contributing to business strategy, then as Area General Manager at ADNH Compass. His earlier career includes operational management at Ch&Co, a merged entity formed in 2017 when Harbour & Jones combined with another catering group. He held General Manager roles at Harbour & Jones, managing catering operations for prominent clients including Ashurst law firm and the Institute of Physics in London. His experience extends to hotel and banqueting operations at Marriott and Renaissance Hotels. Kolosits holds a degree from Budapest University of Technology and Economics, bringing technical credentials alongside decades of hands-on industry experience.
Erth Abu Dhabi has evolved significantly since its rebranding in 2021 from the Armed Forces Officers Club and Hotel, a facility that originally opened to the public in 2003. The property operates a 294-room luxury resort, multiple dining venues including Erth Restaurant, which has held a Michelin star for three consecutive years, and a state-of-the-art central production unit unveiled in 2021 capable of producing up to 100,000 meals per day. Erth Hospitality serves over 60 facilities across the UAE, with clients spanning government, defence, military, healthcare and education sectors. The company operates the largest catering capacity in the region, employing over 150 chefs from 25 countries and deploying advanced technology to manage inventory and optimize production. Erth Abu Dhabi generated approximately 25.6 million dollars in revenue in 2025 and currently employs around 900 staff.
The appointment signals Erth's intention to strengthen operational leadership within its hospitality division as the broader company pursues regional expansion. Tomlinson's promotion to COO earlier this year preceded this hire, suggesting the organization is building depth in its executive team. Kolosits's track record spans business-to-business and industrial catering, retail operations, hotel environments and healthcare dining, positioning him to address operational complexity across Erth's diversified client base. The timing appears aligned with Erth's documented ambitions to scale beyond its single Abu Dhabi property; the company has publicly stated plans to launch new hotels and mixed-use developments across the Gulf region. For a catering division servicing high-profile government events and sensitive facilities, Kolosits's experience managing security-conscious operations at defence and military sites in the UAE may prove particularly valuable as Erth pursues growth in sectors that demand specialized expertise and regulatory compliance.
