The European Commodities Exchange, the continent's long-running trading convention for grain, feed, oilseeds and agricultural commodities, takes place on 5 and 6 November 2026 at Rotterdam Ahoy, in Hall 1 of the venue.
The event opens at 13:00 on 5 November and runs from 09:00 to 18:00 the following day. The organiser reports around 100 exhibitors across 10,000 square metres.
It is better understood as a working marketplace than as a conventional exhibition. Traders, brokers, co-operatives, crushers, shippers and port and bulk logistics operators attend to transact and to renew counterparty relationships, with the exhibition stands functioning as meeting space rather than as product displays. The format has survived largely unchanged for decades because the business it serves is still conducted on the basis of personal relationships between a relatively small number of firms.
The exchange rotates between European trading cities, and the organiser chose Rotterdam for 2026 on the basis that it is one of the continent's most important trading cities. That is not promotional language in this case. Rotterdam is Europe's largest agribulk port and the point through which a large share of the grain, oilseed and animal feed imported into northwestern Europe physically moves, which makes it the natural meeting point for the trade.
The timing in early November places the event after the northern hemisphere harvest, when the season's production is known and the forward positions for the coming year are being set. That is the period of highest commercial relevance in the agricultural trading calendar.
The sector's current preoccupations are visible in the attendance list: the reconfiguration of Black Sea grain flows, European deforestation regulation and its documentation requirements for imported soy and palm products, freight and bunker costs, and the currency exposure that comes with dollar-denominated commodity contracts in euro-functional businesses.
For attendees the practical value is concentration. Two days in one hall covers a counterparty list that would otherwise take months of travel.
