E-world energy and water 2027 will be held at Messe Essen from 16 to 18 February 2027. The exhibition is co-organised by Messe Essen and con|energy and describes itself as the meeting place of the European energy industry. In June 2026 the organiser reported that 85 percent of the exhibition space was already booked and announced Resilient Infrastructure as a new focus topic for 2027.
The 2026 edition set an exhibitor record with more than 1,100 companies across six halls. Exhibitors cover energy trading, utilities, grid technology, smart metering, digital platforms, hydrogen and district heating, and the conference programme runs alongside the halls.
The event matters to executives because it is the annual gathering of the utilities, traders, grid operators and technology suppliers of the German and wider European power and gas markets, and because decisions on grid investment, energy trading platforms and security of supply are taken by the companies that meet there. Chief executives and board members of municipal utilities, energy traders and transmission companies attend alongside regulators and investors.
Messe Essen operates the exhibition centre next to the Grugapark in the south of Essen.
