WETEX, the Water, Energy, Technology and Environment Exhibition, runs from 20 to 22 October 2026 at the Dubai World Trade Centre, organised by the Dubai Electricity and Water Authority. The World Green Economy Summit, convened by DEWA and the World Green Economy Organization, is scheduled for 21 and 22 October at the same venue, so the two events run as a single week for the energy and sustainability sector.
WETEX is one of the largest specialised exhibitions of its kind in the region and has grown over more than two decades into the main marketplace for utilities, renewable energy developers, water technology companies, smart grid and metering providers, and the engineering and construction contractors that build power and desalination capacity across the Gulf.
Its significance to executives comes from the buyer sitting at the centre of it. DEWA is a large utility with an active capital programme in solar generation, water production and network digitisation, and its suppliers, partners and prospective partners use WETEX to present technology and meet its procurement and project teams. The same applies to utilities and developers from Saudi Arabia, Oman and other neighbouring markets that attend as visitors and delegations.
The exhibition floor covers renewable energy and storage, water treatment and desalination, electricity transmission and distribution, energy efficiency, electric mobility and charging, and environmental technologies. Solar and clean energy have their own dedicated zone, reflecting the scale of the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Solar Park and similar projects in the pipeline across the region.
The World Green Economy Summit adds a policy and finance layer, bringing ministers, heads of international organisations, utility chief executives and investors together around green finance, climate commitments and the business case for the energy transition. For chief executives and boards in energy, water, infrastructure and finance, the summit is where the regional direction of travel on decarbonisation policy is set out.
Together the two events make late October the anchor point of Dubai's energy calendar. Senior leaders from utilities, independent power producers, engineering groups, technology vendors and investors in the sector should expect the week to generate project announcements, partnership agreements and procurement signals for the year ahead.
