JLL was founded on March 16, 1999 by the merger of Jones Lang Wootton and LaSalle Partners, though the enterprise that became known as Jones Lang Wootton began operating in 1783. Headquartered in Chicago, Illinois, the organization operates as one of the worlds largest publicly traded commercial real estate and professional services firms, serving corporations, institutional investors, governments, developers, and property owners across more than eighty countries.

JLL trades as NYSE: JLL and is an S&P 400 component. In terms of scale, the company has 113,200 employees and reported 2025 revenue of US$26.1 billion. Key subsidiaries include LaSalle Investment Management and JLL Properties.

Recent Leadership Developments

Christian Ulbrich is President and CEO of JLL, having been at the helm since 2016. In July 2025, Karen Brennan transitioned from CFO to CEO of the global Leasing Advisory business, with Kelly Howe stepping up as the new CFO. Additionally, in September 2026, Jones Lang LaSalle named Paul Morgan its Chief Operating Officer with a seat on the Global Executive Board, with the job built to fold operational expertise spread across the firm into a single global team.
