Vivek Pruthi, a 20-year SAP executive who most recently held the role of Vice President and Head of Customer Evolution for Southeast Asia, has been appointed Managing Director for Asia-Pacific at Spinnaker Support, the company announced Tuesday. The appointment comes as the Denver-based third-party software support provider accelerates its regional footprint, more than doubling its APAC headcount over the past year to capitalize on growing demand among enterprises seeking alternatives to vendor-driven ERP support models. Pruthi's hiring underscores Spinnaker's strategic push into a region where organizations increasingly question expensive vendor lock-in and rigid upgrade cycles.

Pruthi will lead Spinnaker's regional growth strategy, driving sales, business development, and customer relationships while helping organizations maximize value from their technology investments. Mark Ritacco, Chief Strategy Officer at Spinnaker, emphasized Pruthi's SAP expertise as central to the hire, noting that the company is investing aggressively in APAC because customers seek greater control over their technology roadmaps and alternatives to vendor-driven timelines. No search firm involvement was mentioned in the announcement. The appointment reflects broader market dynamics. A March 2026 Mordor Intelligence report cited in the announcement notes that global demand for certified ERP consultants exceeds supply, with an estimated 30,000 to 40,000-person shortfall for SAP consultants alone, pushing organizations to reevaluate how they support and modernize mission-critical systems.

Pruthi brings deep expertise in SAP partner channels, customer success, and regional operations across Southeast Asia and beyond. He spent more than a decade at SAP in escalating leadership roles, including Senior Director of Channel Program and Business Innovation for the Asia-Pacific and Japan region, where he directed partner program development and go-to-market strategies. As a Global Program Director managing ecosystem and channels operations, Pruthi shaped strategic decisions supporting enterprise implementations. Earlier in his SAP tenure, he led customer success and engagement for Southeast Asia, achieving SAP's highest global renewal rate in 2020 at 99.1% with zero churn in Singapore and the Philippines. He was recognized as SAP Top Talent and Catalyst twice, in 2022 and 2023. His experience predates SAP; he worked as a Presales Consultant at Ariba, the supply chain software company, and Tata Communications. He holds a Bachelor of Engineering from MGM College of Engineering and a Master of Computing from the University of Western Sydney.

Spinnaker Support, established in 2008 and headquartered in Greenwood Village, Colorado, has evolved into a global provider of third-party software support and managed services for Oracle, SAP, and VMware environments. The company serves more than 1,000 enterprise clients across 104 countries and claims to have delivered more than one billion dollars in cumulative value to customers by enabling them to reduce support costs by an average of 60 percent while maintaining system performance, security, and compliance. Spinnaker operates delivery centers across North America, Europe, the Middle East, and Asia-Pacific, employing approximately 450 staff across six continents who speak 21 languages. The company offers proprietary services including Spinnaker Shield for security hardening, Spinnaker Intelligence, an AI-driven tool for rapid issue resolution, and the Ultimate Support Guarantee, described as the first such agreement in the market for customers switching away from vendor support.

The appointment signals that Spinnaker is placing SAP expertise at the center of its Asia-Pacific strategy at a pivotal moment. Enterprises in the region are grappling with competing pressures: the need to stabilize mission-critical ERP systems while managing rising consulting costs and constrained talent availability. Pruthi's two-decade tenure at SAP, particularly his success building and managing the partner ecosystem in Asia-Pacific, positions him to translate that vendor-side perspective into Spinnaker's independent support model. His track record achieving record renewal rates suggests familiarity with customer retention and satisfaction, qualities that may prove advantageous in a market where switching from vendor support remains perceived as risky. The timing of Spinnaker's APAC headcount doubling and this leadership hire suggests the company is betting that organizations increasingly uncomfortable with vendor control will seek trusted alternatives, and that a senior figure with deep SAP relationships and regional knowledge can accelerate that transition.
