Both executives report to Quantinuum President and Chief Executive Officer Rajeeb Hazra. Schulman, who spent nearly seven years as Chief Legal Officer and Head of Corporate Affairs at GitLab before departing in June 2026, brings more than two decades of experience guiding technology companies through rapid expansion and transition to public markets. Her role at GitLab encompassed oversight of global legal affairs, compliance, intellectual property, corporate development, sustainability, and data protection. Hazra noted in a statement that both executives "are highly accomplished leaders who bring deep experience guiding technology companies through periods of transformation." O'Byrne brings over 25 years of global human resources leadership across public and private equity-backed companies in technology, energy, mining, and industrial sectors. Most recently serving as Chief People Officer at Advanced Energy where he led human resources during a period of integration and operational expansion, O'Byrne previously held the role of Chief Human Resources Officer at Jonah Energy and Senior Vice President of Global Human Resources at MRC Global.
Schulman's previous positions include Chief Legal Officer roles at Couchbase and New Relic, where she scaled legal and compliance functions through the transition from private to publicly traded company status. She studied Dramatic Writing at New York University's Tisch School of the Arts and holds a Doctor of Jurisprudence from Rutgers Law School. O'Byrne studied at the University of Western Australia and Harvard Business School, bringing expertise in talent acquisition, organizational development, and leadership development. His tenure spans roles at BG Group and McDermott International in addition to his U.S. energy and industrial positions.
