Dhruv Vohra, Managing Director, Global Business Group Southeast Asia at Meta

Meta has appointed Dhruv Vohra as managing director of its Global Business Group for Southeast Asia, elevating the seven-year company veteran to oversee commercial strategy across Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam. Vohra, who reports to Benjamin Joe, Meta's vice president for Asia Pacific, will lead teams partnering with regional advertisers and agencies to help businesses integrate artificial intelligence and messaging solutions across Meta's family of applications. The appointment, announced on 30 September 2026, reflects Meta's intensified push to capture commercial opportunity in one of its fastest-growing business regions.

Vohra returns to the region where he began his Meta career after spending the past three years managing the company's small and medium business portfolio across all of Asia Pacific. His elevation underscores Meta's confidence in his understanding of the region's business landscape and his track record of team building. Benjamin Joe noted that Southeast Asia represents a critical growth market where businesses are increasingly expected to adopt artificial intelligence and messaging capabilities. No search firm involvement was disclosed in the appointment.

Vohra joined Meta in August 2019 as director for e-commerce and digital natives, working with companies reshaping online commerce across the region. He progressed to lead SMB growth in Southeast Asia before taking responsibility for Meta's small and medium business operations across the entire Asia Pacific region in April 2023. Throughout his tenure, Vohra has established himself as a recognized voice on regional digital economy trends, authoring the LinkedIn newsletter Small to Scale: Inside APAC's Innovative SMBs and contributing substantially to Meta's SYNC Southeast Asia thought leadership series analyzing digital consumer and e-commerce trends. Before Meta, he spent more than eight years at Google in industry management and strategy roles focused on Southeast Asia.

Meta's Southeast Asia region houses a business customer base where small and medium-sized enterprises represent a particularly significant segment. The social media giant has been expanding commercial relationships with businesses across the six-market region, positioning AI and messaging tools as engines of business growth and operational efficiency. The appointment places Vohra in charge of translating Meta's enterprise capabilities into revenue-generating commercial relationships across one of Asia's most dynamic digital markets.

The move suggests Meta views the regionalization of its commercial operations as essential to competing in Southeast Asia's fragmented advertising and business services landscape. Vohra's experience managing large-scale SMB portfolios and his demonstrated ability to build sales and partnership teams across multiple markets position him to execute Meta's strategy of deepening commercial penetration at the SMB level while simultaneously developing larger enterprise relationships. The Southeast Asia assignment marks an intensification of Meta's regional strategy even as the broader technology sector faces regulatory scrutiny and competitive pressure across Asia Pacific markets.
