FULTON FINANCIAL CORPORATION APPOINTS DAVID S. SCHULZ TO BOARD OF DIRECTORS

Fulton Financial Corporation appointed David S. Schulz to its board of directors, effective September 14, 2026, in a move that strengthens the Lancaster, Pennsylvania-based regional bank's financial oversight capacity. Schulz, who recently concluded a decade-long tenure as chief financial officer at industrial distributor Wesco International, brings extensive experience in capital allocation and risk management at publicly traded companies. The appointment, announced July 21, expands Fulton's board to 11 members and positions Schulz on both the Audit and Risk committees, roles that directly leverage his financial expertise.

Curt Myers, Fulton's chairman, chief executive, and president, cited Schulz's deep background in financial leadership, strategic planning, and mergers and acquisitions as reasons for the appointment. Myers noted that Schulz's perspective would support Fulton's growth strategy and shareholder value creation. The company did not disclose involvement by a search firm. Schulz will also sit on the board of Fulton Bank, N.A., the holding company's principal banking subsidiary. The appointment comes as Fulton pursues modest but steady expansion; in April 2026, the company completed its acquisition of Blue Foundry Bancorp in northern New Jersey, representing a key geographic extension of its Mid-Atlantic footprint.

Schulz holds a bachelor's degree in Finance from Villanova University and a master's degree in Management from the U.S. Naval Postgraduate School, following service as an officer in the United States Marine Corps. He spent a decade at Wesco International starting in 2016, rising from senior vice president and chief financial officer to executive vice president and chief financial officer by June 2020, a role he held until February 2026. Before joining Wesco, he served as senior vice president and chief operating officer of Armstrong Flooring and previously held financial leadership positions at Armstrong World Industries, Procter and Gamble, and The J.M. Smucker Company. Recently, Schulz joined the board of Sterling Infrastructure, a publicly traded infrastructure and construction company, and was elevated to chair its audit committee in 2026.

Fulton Financial operates as a $34 billion financial services holding company with more than 3,400 employees and over 215 financial centers across Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Maryland, Delaware, and Virginia. The company has pursued a measured organic growth strategy under Myers, who took the helm in January 2023. In the first quarter of 2026, Fulton reported operating earnings of $0.55 per diluted share, reflecting what management characterized as steady profitability and disciplined execution. The company completed the Blue Foundry acquisition in mid-2026 and continues to target mid-single-digit loan growth while maintaining strict expense discipline.

Schulz's appointment appears calibrated to reinforce Fulton's board expertise in financial risk at a time when regional banks face persistent margin pressures and evolving regulatory demands. His experience navigating a decade of capital deployment decisions at a Fortune 500 distributor suggests a pragmatic approach to M&A and financial strategy. The dual board appointments at Fulton and its subsidiary, combined with his existing roles at Sterling, position Schulz as an active governance figure; his election to audit committee chair at Sterling in 2026 signals that other board committees are valuing his financial oversight credentials. Whether this appointment signals Fulton's willingness to accelerate acquisition activity beyond Blue Foundry remains unclear, though Myers has consistently emphasized capital flexibility and organic growth as the company's priorities.
