Mark Pickering, Chief Financial Officer, Conduit Holdings

Conduit Holdings Limited has appointed Mark Pickering as Chief Financial Officer, the Bermuda based reinsurance group announced on 18 August 2026 from its headquarters in Pembroke, Bermuda.

Pickering will take up the role on 30 November 2026 and will join the Board of Conduit Holdings as an Executive Director on the same date. Conduit Holdings is the ultimate parent company of Conduit Reinsurance Limited, a Bermuda based multi line reinsurance business licensed by the Bermuda Monetary Authority as a Class 4 insurer, and is listed on the London Stock Exchange under the ticker CRE. A.M. Best has assigned Conduit Reinsurance Limited a Financial Strength Rating of A minus and a Long Term Issuer Credit Rating of a minus, both with a stable outlook.

As Chief Financial Officer, Pickering will be responsible for collaborating on the company's strategy, leading its capital management activities and financial reporting, and overseeing its investment portfolio. He brings nearly 25 years of experience in the reinsurance industry.

Pickering joins Conduit from Aspen Insurance Holdings Limited, where he spent eleven years and served as Group Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer. He joined Aspen in 2015 as Group Treasurer before becoming Chief Financial Officer and Chief Executive Officer of Aspen Bermuda Limited, and later Group Chief Capital Management Officer. Following his appointment as Group Chief Financial Officer, he played a leading role in Aspen's initial public offering on the New York Stock Exchange in May 2025 and its subsequent acquisition by Sompo, which completed in February 2026.

Before joining Aspen, Pickering held senior roles at Platinum Underwriters and Marsh McLennan. He is a Chartered Financial Analyst, a Chartered Professional Accountant and an Associate in Reinsurance.

Pickering's appointment follows the announcement that Elaine Whelan will retire as Chief Financial Officer and Executive Director with effect from 30 September 2026. Whelan has served as Conduit's Chief Financial Officer since the company joined the market in January 2021. The company said Whelan had made a substantial contribution to its development, helping to establish its financial and operational foundations during its early years as a listed business, and thanked her for her service to the Board, the Executive team and colleagues across the organisation.

Neil Eckert, Chief Executive Officer of Conduit Holdings, said Pickering brought extensive experience across the global reinsurance market and a strong track record of financial leadership, and that his expertise would be invaluable as the company continued to develop and execute its long term strategy. Eckert said the Board looked forward to the contribution Pickering would make as a member of the Executive team and the Board.
