Hong Kong Legal Week 2026 takes place at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre from 2 to 6 November 2026. The week is the flagship annual event of the Department of Justice of the Hong Kong SAR Government and gathers judges, arbitrators, general counsel, law firm leaders, academics and officials from international legal organisations for a series of conferences on dispute resolution, commercial law and legal technology.
The 2026 programme marks the centenary of UNIDROIT, the International Institute for the Unification of Private Law, and the sixtieth anniversary of the United Nations Commission on International Trade Law, both of which are partnering on sessions during the week. A Greater Bay Area lawyers' forum addresses cross boundary legal practice between Hong Kong and the mainland cities of Guangdong, and the Hong Kong LawTech Fest runs alongside, covering artificial intelligence and technology in legal services.
Legal Week is the venue through which the Hong Kong government promotes the city as an international centre for legal and dispute resolution services, a position underpinned by its common law system, its arbitration institutions and its arrangements for mutual enforcement of judgments and awards with mainland China. The week runs in the same days as Hong Kong FinTech Week at the same venue.
For general counsel and chief legal officers of companies operating in Asia, and for the leadership of international law firms and arbitral institutions, the week is a concentrated opportunity to engage with the Hong Kong judiciary and government on the legal infrastructure that governs cross border business with China.
