Karmo Kaas-Lutsberg, chairman of Business Post Group

Bonnier News has taken formal majority control of Business Post Group and appointed a new board, with Karmo Kaas-Lutsberg named chairman, the Dublin publisher reported on 7 September 2026. Kaas-Lutsberg holds the seat as the representative of the Swedish media group, which now controls the Irish business media, research and executive education company outright.

He is not new to the board. He has sat on it for Bonnier News since the Swedish group took a minority position in 2023, and the chairmanship is the change. The board named alongside him draws on both shareholders. Peter Fellman, head of Bonnier News Business and editor in chief of Dagens industri, joins as a director, as do Thomas Mattsson, a senior adviser at the group, and Lotta Edling, its director of publishing. Kilcullen Kapital is represented by Enda O'Coineen and Michael Patten, and Endeavour Nominees by Derek Foley Butler.

Kaas-Lutsberg has been at Bonnier since 2008, first as chief financial officer and then as chief technology officer of its business to business area, and he became head of Bonnier Business to Business on 7 September 2016, joining the executive management of Bonnier AB. Before that he was chief financial officer and country manager for Estonia at ICA, and then real estate and technical sourcing director at the retailer's Baltic headquarters in Riga. He began his career as a journalist at Aripaev, the Estonian business daily owned by Bonnier, and he chairs its supervisory board.

Business Post Group publishes the Business Post newspaper and runs a research business alongside conferences and executive education, with group revenue of about 40 million euro. Bonnier News first invested 6 million euro for a minority stake in July 2023, agreed the majority transaction in June 2026 and received clearance from Ireland's Competition and Consumer Protection Commission on 13 July 2026 under case M/26/044, a simplified media merger review. Under the new structure, chief executive Mark Beard takes the combined business media, conferences and executive education operations, and Red C chief executive Richard Colwell takes research and insights, with both reporting to the board.

The composition of the board is the clearest signal of intent. Three of the incoming directors come from the Swedish group's editorial and publishing leadership rather than from its corporate centre, which suggests the parent intends to work on the product rather than simply consolidate the accounts. That is an inference from who was appointed and not something either company stated. The split of the operating businesses between Beard and Colwell also formalises a distinction between the media and events side and the research side that had previously sat under a single group structure, and it puts two executives rather than one in front of the board. What the announcement establishes plainly is narrower: the ownership question that has been open since 2023 is settled, the regulatory condition was cleared in July, and the group now has a chairman who has watched the business from the inside for three years.
