Rahul Mathur, CFO of Americana Restaurants

Rahul Mathur has been appointed chief financial officer of Americana Restaurants International, the Abu Dhabi-listed quick-service restaurant operator, effective April 6, 2026. Mathur, who brings over 25 years of international finance experience across technology and semiconductor sectors, replaces the previous finance lead and assumes responsibility for leading the company's Finance, Legal, Business Development, and Investor Relations functions as Americana executes its expansion strategy across the Middle East, North Africa, and Central Asia.

The appointment marks a significant lateral move for Mathur from the semiconductor sector. Prior to joining Americana, he spent more than two years at Toronto-based Alphawave Semi, a high-speed connectivity and AI infrastructure specialist, where he served as chief financial officer and chief operating officer before departing in February 2026. At Alphawave, which targets next-generation artificial intelligence infrastructure markets, Mathur managed financial operations for a rapid-growth technology company navigating the semiconductor cycle. No search firm or external recruitment advisor involvement was disclosed in the announcement.

Mathur's career spans two decades in senior finance roles across marquee semiconductor and technology companies. Between 2016 and 2021, he served as chief financial officer and senior vice president of finance at Rambus, where he was instrumental in the company's transformation into a product-focused entity while delivering consistent financial results and shareholder returns. Before that, he held senior finance positions at Cypress Semiconductor, Spansion, and KLA Instruments. His expertise encompasses corporate finance, strategic planning, investor relations, merger integration, and risk management. Mathur holds a bachelor of arts degree in applied mathematics from Dartmouth College and an MBA from the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania.

Americana Restaurants International, incorporated in May 2022 and dual-listed on the Tadawul exchange in Riyadh and the Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange since December 2022, operates quick-service restaurant franchises across the Middle East, North Africa, and Kazakhstan. The company is majority-owned by the Public Investment Fund of Saudi Arabia through Adeptio, which is controlled by Emaar Properties founder Mohammed Alabbar. The December 2022 initial public offering, which was the largest in the Gulf region's food and beverage sector at the time, raised approximately 1.8 billion dollars. The company operates multiple restaurant brands and has expanded aggressively into new markets and digital channels.

The CFO appointment reflects Americana's commitment to strengthening financial leadership amid broader ambitions for geographic and operational expansion. Mathur's appointment to a restaurant and hospitality company represents a notable sector shift from semiconductors, yet his experience managing finance functions at high-growth technology companies with complex supply chains, international operations, and investor scrutiny may provide relevant transferable skills for a publicly listed operator navigating competitive franchise dynamics and regional market volatility across emerging economies.
