InsuranceMarket.ae has appointed Hitesh Motwani as Chief Executive Officer following regulatory approval from the Central Bank of the UAE, the Dubai based insurance platform announced on 27 August 2026. The formal appointment is as Chief Executive Officer of AFIA Insurance Brokerage Services LLC, the regulated entity behind the InsuranceMarket.ae brand, with the two names used interchangeably across the business.
The appointment marks an internal succession rather than an external hire. Founder Avinash Babur is moving into the role of Chairman of InsuranceMarket.ae while continuing as Founder and Chairman of Alfred Holdings, the wider group he leads as principal shareholder. Babur said one of the greatest responsibilities of leadership was to create other leaders, and that Motwani had earned the opportunity to lead the company into its next chapter.
Thirteen years inside the company
The appointment of Motwani caps more than thirteen years at InsuranceMarket.ae. He joined the company in 2013 and moved through increasingly senior roles across operations, portfolio management and marketing, becoming Chief Marketing Officer in 2018 and Deputy Chief Executive Officer in February 2025. He holds the ACII qualification from the Chartered Insurance Institute in the United Kingdom, a professional credential widely recognised across the insurance industry.
Motwani said taking on the responsibility of chief executive was both an honour and a commitment, adding that his focus would remain on policyholders, insurer partners and staff while continuing to make insurance simpler and more accessible. He said understanding the business from the ground up carried a responsibility to the trust placed in the company by its policyholders, insurer partners and employees.
A platform built over sixteen years
Launched in 2010, InsuranceMarket.ae has grown into one of the largest insurance platforms in the United Arab Emirates, combining insurance expertise, technology and customer service. The company operates as an insurance intermediary, comparing and arranging motor, health, home, life and business insurance policies for customers across the country. It points to the naming of the InsuranceMarket Metro Station in Dubai as a marker of the brand recognition it has built in the market.
As Chairman, Babur is expected to remain involved in the long term direction of the company while dedicating more time to Alfred Holdings, which the company said is entering a new phase of growth with further ventures expected to be announced in due course. The leadership change was formalised only after clearance from the central bank, reflecting the regulated status of the underlying brokerage business.
