Doha Bank has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with KKR to explore a strategic partnership aimed at expanding access to private markets investments for eligible Qatari investors and strengthening institutional collaboration between the two organisations.

Under the proposed framework, the two institutions will examine opportunities for cooperation across KKR’s private equity, infrastructure, credit and real estate investment platforms.

The partnership could also enable Doha Bank to offer eligible clients access to KKR’s investment strategies, broadening the range of alternative investment opportunities available in the Qatari market.

The MoU also outlines plans to explore a wider institutional relationship, reflecting a shared ambition to establish a long-term strategic partnership and deepen ties between the two organisations.

Sheikh Abdulrahman bin Fahad bin Faisal Al Thani, group CEO of Doha Bank, said: ‘By leveraging KKR’s internationally recognised expertise across private equity, infrastructure, credit and real estate, we aim to provide our customers with access to world-class investment solutions, insights and capabilities.’

KKR has been strengthening its regional presence through local investment capabilities and strategic partnerships.

General David Petraeus, Partner and Chairman of KKR Middle East, noted: ‘Qatar has built a dynamic and increasingly diversified economy, underpinned by strong fundamentals, a bold strategic vision and reforms that have delivered remarkable growth in a short period of time.’

The agreement builds on KKR’s longstanding presence in the Middle East. The firm has operated in the region since 2009 and has undertaken several investments across key sectors.

In 2025, KKR appointed General Petraeus as chairman of KKR Middle East and established a dedicated regional investment team led by Julian Barratt-Due, managing director and head of Middle East investing.
