IMTEX 2027, together with the co located Tooltech 2027, takes place at the Bangalore International Exhibition Centre from 21 to 27 January 2027. Organised by the Indian Machine Tool Manufacturers Association, which also owns the venue, IMTEX is South Asia's largest exhibition of metal cutting machine tools, manufacturing technology and the tooling, metrology and automation that surround them.
The exhibition runs on a two year cycle for metal cutting, alternating with a metal forming edition, and draws machine tool builders from India, Europe, Japan, Taiwan, Korea and China alongside the Indian automotive, aerospace, defence, capital goods and general engineering companies that buy their equipment. Live demonstrations of machines on the show floor are the format's defining feature, and orders are commonly placed during the week.
The 2027 edition arrives as India pursues manufacturing growth through production linked incentives, defence indigenisation and the expansion of electronics and automotive supply chains, all of which drive demand for machine tools. It also coincides with a period of investment in Indian machine tool manufacturing capacity by domestic and foreign builders.
For chief executives and boards in industrial manufacturing, capital goods and automation, IMTEX is the clearest reading of capital expenditure intentions across Indian engineering industry and of which suppliers are gaining share. Heads of operations and procurement at manufacturers use it to specify equipment for new plants, while leaders of machine tool and automation companies use it to launch products for the Indian market. The dates are confirmed on the venue's official calendar.
