Russell Investments has appointed Brahim Ben Ammar as Head of Middle East, based in the firm's Dubai office.
In the role, Mr Ben Ammar will focus on expanding the firm's existing business in the region and supporting strategic partnerships and initiatives. He reports to Jim Leggate, Head of Europe, the Middle East and Africa.
Mr Leggate said: "Brahim joins us at an important and exciting time, reflecting our continued commitment to delivering solutions combining investment advice, investment management and efficient implementation to investors across the Middle East. We are seeing significant demand for our capabilities across both institutional and wealth markets."
Mr Ben Ammar joins from Banco Santander International, where he served as Executive Director. He brings more than 25 years of professional experience and has held senior positions at Banco Santander International, Lombard Odier, Pictet Asset Management and Clearstream Banking Group.
Russell Investments has served clients in the Middle East for 50 years and has maintained an office in the Dubai International Financial Centre for more than 15 years. The firm is majority owned by funds managed by TA Associates, with a significant minority stake held by funds managed by Reverence Capital Partners. In July 2026 it agreed to be acquired by a consortium led by B Capital Group that includes the California Public Employees' Retirement System, a transaction expected to close by the end of the first quarter of 2027, subject to regulatory approvals.
The appointment adds to a run of global asset managers strengthening their senior coverage of the Gulf this autumn, including Pantheon's new Abu Dhabi office under Firas Mallah.
