BICC Cables, from British Insulated Callender's Cables, was one of the leading British cable manufacturers of the twentieth century, producing power and telecommunications cables for infrastructure programmes in the United Kingdom and across international markets. The company was the founding joint venture partner, alongside the Government of Dubai, in the creation of Ducab in 1979, bringing cable manufacturing technology and know-how to the UAE venture.
Around the turn of the millennium the group divested its cable operations and the remaining business was refocused and renamed, ending BICC's era as an independent cable maker; its legacy continues in ventures it helped establish, including Ducab.
