WSO2, the enterprise software company known for its open-source API management, integration and identity products, has appointed Tanmaya Das as Chief Financial Officer, the company announced on 11 June 2026. Das assumed the role in May, joining the leadership team as WSO2 pursues its next phase of global growth.

Das arrives with a decade of experience as Chief Financial Officer of RateGain, where he helped scale the business into a globally recognised travel-technology platform. During his tenure there he drove financial operations, executed strategic acquisitions and supported the company's successful public listing, a background that positions him to steer WSO2's finances through a period of expansion and potential capital-markets ambition.

The appointment comes as WSO2 builds out its platform strategy for what it calls the agentic enterprise, helping organisations securely integrate artificial-intelligence capabilities into complex technology environments while retaining control over governance, data sovereignty and digital infrastructure. Scaling that strategy globally places new demands on financial planning, capital allocation and operational discipline, the areas a chief financial officer is expected to anchor.

"His experience in leading organizations through growth and transformation will support our long-term growth," said Devaka Randeniya, WSO2's Chief Revenue Officer and Acting Chief Executive Officer, framing the hire as part of the company's push to strengthen its executive bench.

For WSO2, bringing in a finance chief with a track record of scaling a technology company and navigating a public listing signals ambition beyond steady-state operations. How Das shapes the company's financial strategy, supports its AI-focused product expansion and prepares the organisation for its next stage will be the early measures of the appointment, and will signal how aggressively WSO2 intends to invest behind its platform in the year ahead.

The hire also lands at a moment when enterprise software companies are being judged closely on the economics of their AI strategies. Investors and customers alike want evidence that AI-driven product expansion translates into durable, profitable growth rather than open-ended spending, and a finance chief experienced in disciplined scaling can help make that case internally and externally.

WSO2 competes in a crowded field of integration, API and identity providers, several of them far larger, which raises the importance of capital efficiency and clear financial priorities. Das's experience taking a technology company to public markets suggests the company is building the financial infrastructure and governance expected of a business preparing for larger-scale ambitions, whether through continued private growth or a future listing.
