Dave Hulays, Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of The Hershey Company

The Hershey Company has named Dave Hulays as its senior vice president and chief financial officer, promoting a long serving insider to lead the finance organization of one of the largest confectionery and snacking businesses in the United States. The maker of Hershey's, Reese's and Kit Kat announced the appointment on September 2, 2026, effective the same day.

Hulays, 54, steps up from his role as senior vice president, finance, which he had held since May 2025. He becomes the company's principal financial officer at a time when packaged food and confectionery producers are contending with elevated cocoa costs, cautious consumers and the need to keep investing in brands and supply chains. He brings close to 30 years of financial leadership experience gathered at Hershey and Procter and Gamble.

His career at the company runs deep. Since joining Hershey in 2012 as vice president, finance for Canada, Hulays has taken on progressively broader responsibilities across the United States and international businesses, global supply chain, the growth office, mergers and acquisitions, corporate financial planning and analysis, finance strategy, global tax and treasury, and enterprise transformation. That breadth gives the company a finance chief who already knows its operations, its cost structure and its growth agenda from the inside.

The choice of an internal candidate signals continuity at a moment when Hershey is managing one of the sharpest cocoa cost cycles in its history while trying to protect margins and defend its position in chocolate and salty snacks. Investors have pressed consumer staples companies to show they can pass through input costs without losing volume, and a finance chief steeped in the company's supply chain and transformation programs is well placed to steer that balance.

Hulays succeeds Steve Voskuil, who has led Hershey's finance organization for the past seven years and has announced his intention to retire in early 2027. Voskuil will move into the role of senior vice president, strategic projects, focusing on initiatives for the chief executive and the board while ensuring a smooth handover.

The appointment adds to a busy stretch of chief financial officer changes across the United States consumer goods sector, where boards are leaning toward finance leaders with deep operating knowledge of their own businesses. For Hershey, a company whose brands are fixtures of American shelves and whose results are watched closely for signals on consumer spending, the promotion of a three decade finance veteran points to a steady hand on capital allocation and cost discipline in the period ahead.
