Revolut has appointed Sid Jajodia, its Chief Banking Officer, as an Executive Director on the Board of Revolut Group Holdings Ltd, the London-based fintech announced on August 4. The appointment, subject to regulatory approvals, marks recognition of Jajodia's role orchestrating the company's aggressive expansion into regulated banking across multiple continents, from the UK's fully licensed bank launch earlier this year to operations in Mexico and Australia and a pending US national bank charter application.

The elevation signals confidence in Jajodia's track record managing banking infrastructure at scale. Martin Gilbert, Chairman of Revolut Group, said the appointment reflects how central Jajodia has been to achieving expansions that required navigating complex regulatory frameworks. "Expanding our banking operations to more countries is central to Revolut's strategy, and Sid has been instrumental to that expansion, from our UK bank launch to our first banks outside Europe," Gilbert said. Revolut has overseen rapid regulatory progress this year: it secured full UK banking license approval from the Prudential Regulation Authority in March after a five-year process, launched regulated banking operations in Mexico and Australia (the company's first outside Europe), and submitted US national bank charter applications to the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency and Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation. No search firm involvement was disclosed in the announcement.

Jajodia holds a bachelor's degree from the School of Planning and Architecture and a master's degree in business from Pennsylvania State University. He joined Revolut as Chief Banking Officer in July 2021 after serving as Chief Executive Officer of Credit at PayU, the payments business. Before PayU, he spent four years at LendingClub as Chief Investment Officer and Vice President of Risk Management, and earlier accumulated 12 years at Capital One, latterly as Senior Vice President and Head of SME Lending. His career spans retail banking, commercial lending, credit risk, and regulatory navigation across established institutions and high-growth fintech platforms.

Revolut operates across the European Economic Area under a European banking licence and manages substantial customer bases in regulated markets. The company reported 75 million customers globally as of the announcement date. In March 2026, its UK bank successfully launched with 13 million existing UK customers. The fintech has committed to a 10 billion pound investment over five years and targets launching in 30 new markets by 2030. The company reached a 75 billion dollar valuation in 2025, positioning itself as one of Europe's most valuable private technology companies.

Jajodia's board appointment reflects broader fintech industry evolution from payment platforms toward regulated banks with deposit-taking capabilities. The appointment also suggests Revolut's confidence that its banking expansion strategy will continue producing regulatory wins and operational scale. His presence on the board alongside co-founder and CEO Nik Storonsky signals that banking operations, not payments, now constitute the company's primary value creation engine going forward. The timing, shortly after securing UK full banking license approval and alongside pending US charter applications, indicates the board sees governance maturation and regulatory relationships as equally important to product innovation in this phase of the company's development.
