TeamSystem completes its $250 Million AI Investment Plan a year ahead of schedule: further acceleration expected by 2030

TeamSystem, one of Europe's leading business management software providers, has appointed Tommaso Cohen as Chief Executive Officer, reshaping the Italian group's leadership after Federico Leproux's 20-year tenure leading the company. The appointment, announced on April 29, 2026, formalizes a planned succession and restructures the executive hierarchy to separate strategic oversight from operational execution as the company pursues aggressive artificial intelligence development and international expansion.

Cohen, who has served as Chief Operating Officer and previously as Chief Financial Officer, assumes day-to-day leadership of the business while Leproux transitions to Executive Chairman, a newly created position focused on strategic direction, board oversight, stakeholder relations, mergers and acquisitions, and legal affairs. The reorganization represents a planned evolution rather than an unexpected shift, according to company disclosures. The appointment came without involvement of an external search firm; instead, it reflects an internal promotion of an executive who has been central to TeamSystem's expansion over more than a decade. Leproux, speaking on the appointment, stated that Cohen's "profound understanding of the company has already been instrumental in shaping our technology and product strategy."

Cohen brings a consulting background that preceded his decade-plus tenure at TeamSystem. Before joining the Italian software company in September 2015, he worked as an Associate Partner at McKinsey and Company in the firm's Business Technology division, having also held roles at consulting firms Value Partner and Abla. At TeamSystem, he began in the CEO Office before becoming Chief Financial Officer and Chief Operating Officer, with his responsibilities expanding across all organizational functions including Product and Technology. He holds a degree in Management and Economic Engineering from Politecnico di Milano, awarded in 2003, and is based in Milan.

TeamSystem, founded in 1979 and headquartered in Pesaro, Italy, stands as one of Europe's larger software providers focused on administrative and business management tools for small and medium-sized enterprises and professional firms. The group reported record revenue of 1.15 billion euros in 2025, representing 12 percent organic year-on-year growth, and serves over 3.1 million customers through proprietary cloud-based digital platforms. With more than 6,000 employees and direct operations in five European and Mediterranean countries, TeamSystem is controlled by Hellman and Friedman, which has owned the company since December 2015. The group has executed multiple acquisitions in recent years to expand in France, Turkey, and other markets.

The timing of Cohen's appointment reflects TeamSystem's strategic pivot toward artificial intelligence as a core competitive lever. The company recently completed a 250 million euro investment plan in AI one year ahead of schedule, with AI-driven revenue climbing 42 percent year-over-year in the first quarter of 2026 and customer adoption rising 25 percent. Cohen's appointment to chief executive appears positioned to accelerate this transformation. The new CEO has emphasized that TeamSystem is transitioning from a traditional SaaS company to a multinational organization designing solutions with artificial intelligence integrated from inception rather than as a layer added afterward, implying that his operational execution focus will be critical as the company navigates this structural shift and competes with larger enterprise software vendors on AI capabilities. The separation between Leproux's strategic oversight and Cohen's operational leadership suggests TeamSystem is betting that a specialized division of labor will enable faster decision-making in a rapidly evolving market.
