Sobha Realty has appointed Ravi Menon as co-chairman of the Dubai-based luxury real estate developer, bringing two decades of leadership experience from the company's Indian operations to oversee its regional expansion. Menon, the son of Sobha founder PNC Menon, will share oversight of the group alongside his father.

In the newly created role, Menon will be responsible for overseeing operations across the various companies under the Sobha Group, according to company announcements. His appointment follows a 20-year tenure leading Sobha India, where he strengthened the company's reputation for on-time delivery and quality standards. Menon said at the time: "Dubai is primed for significant growth in the real estate sector, and it gives me great pleasure to be appointed as the Co-Chairman of Sobha Realty during this new era of development." He added that the company aims to "continue to transform the sector by setting higher benchmarks in the premium real estate segment."

Menon is a civil engineering graduate with honours from Purdue University in the United States. He joined Sobha Limited in India as a director in June 2004, progressing to vice chairman in January 2006 and then chairman of Sobha India in 2012. During his tenure there, he diversified the company's product lines and expanded into multiple Indian markets, establishing the group's reputation for construction quality and delivery discipline. The appointment marks his transition from leading the Indian business to orchestrating growth across the group's international footprint.

Sobha Realty, headquartered in Dubai, operates as a multinational luxury real estate developer with operations across the UAE, India, Oman, Bahrain, and Brunei. The company was founded in 1976 as an interior decoration firm in Oman before expanding into large-scale real estate development. Its flagship Dubai project, Sobha Hartland, is an eight-million-square-foot master-planned community that features luxury apartments, villas, and townhouses. Sobha's business model emphasizes backward integration, controlling every stage of development from design through construction and interior finishing, distinguishing it from competitors that rely on external contractors.

The appointment signals Menon's intention to apply his Indian market experience to Sobha Realty's ambitious expansion in Dubai and internationally. Menon shares his father's commitment to quality craftsmanship and has expressed interest in sustainable real estate development. His move to Dubai reflects the group's strategic shift toward establishing the UAE as its primary hub for global growth, as the company pursues expansion into new international markets. The appointment fits the company's trajectory of transitioning leadership while maintaining continuity in operational focus and quality standards that have established Sobha as a premium developer competing alongside regional giants like Emaar Properties.
