PNC Menon

Puthan Naduvakkatt Chenthamaraksha Menon, commonly known as PNC Menon, was born on November 17, 1948, in Palakkad, Kerala. At age 10, he lost his father and had to shoulder family responsibilities, and financial struggles forced him to abandon his studies after primary education. He dropped out of Sree Kerala Varma College, Thrissur, to launch an interior decoration business without completing his education.

At age 26, Menon left Kerala for Oman, where he set up an interior decoration firm (STC) in 1976. Within a decade, his firm was a market leader and handled prestigious projects for the rulers of Oman, the UAE, Bahrain, Qatar, and Brunei. He contributed towards building iconic structures like Oman's Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque and Al Bustan Palace. In 1995, the Sultan of Oman granted him and his family Omani citizenship.

In 1995, he founded Sobha Ltd. in Bangalore, named after his wife. Sobha Ltd. has delivered over 140 million square feet of residential, contractual and commercial projects since inception, and for the last five years has emerged as the top developer amongst more than 12,000 developers in India. In 2003, Menon expanded his footprint to Dubai, establishing Sobha Realty. He is a billionaire with an estimated net worth of US$3.6 billion as of October 2025, making him one of the richest people in both Oman and India.
