Ross Lambert, office managing partner of Forvis Mazars in Milton Keynes

Forvis Mazars has appointed Ross Lambert as office managing partner in Milton Keynes, handing the leadership of one of the firm's larger regional offices to a partner who has spent his entire career in the town.

The appointment was announced on 21 October 2026. Lambert succeeds Rebecca Dacre, who has led the office since 2022 and is stepping back from the role after four years.

Lambert joined Forvis Mazars on its graduate scheme in 2010 and is now a partner in the firm's financial planning team, advising clients across the region. That team was ranked first in the FT Adviser Top 100 for 2026, which makes his background an unusual one for an office leadership role in a practice whose regional offices are more often led from audit, tax or restructuring.

He said that it is a privilege to now lead the office, and set out a priority that is about presence rather than process: making sure businesses in the area know who the firm is and what it does. He named visibility in the local market, client service and the development of the office's own people as the three things he intends to concentrate on.

The office Lambert inherits has grown substantially under his predecessor. Over Dacre's tenure it appointed five new partners and more than a dozen directors, and in the current year it took on 18 graduates and apprentices. That is a material expansion for a single regional office and it changes what the managing partner job involves, since a larger and more junior population needs supervising and developing rather than simply being deployed.

Dacre said that leading the Milton Keynes team has been a highlight of her career so far. She is a restructuring partner and remains with the firm, turning to the growth of the restructuring and insolvency practice across the South East. That is a sideways move into a specialism rather than a departure, which is the orderly form of this kind of transition and removes the main risk in a regional handover, that institutional knowledge leaves with the outgoing leader.

Milton Keynes sits in Buckinghamshire and is one of the larger commercial centres in the South East outside London, with a concentration of corporate head offices, logistics operators and technology businesses. For a professional services firm, the attraction of the location is that it offers mid-market corporate work without London cost structures, which is the market Lambert's remit about local visibility is aimed at.

Forvis Mazars did not disclose whether an executive search was involved, and the announcement carries no financial information. It also does not state how many offices the UK practice operates or where Milton Keynes ranks among them, so claims circulating about the office's standing within the firm are not supported by the firm's own statement.

The firm took its present name after Mazars combined with the United States practice FORVIS, which placed the UK business inside a larger international network. Lambert's appointment is a continuity choice within that structure rather than a signal of any change in direction for the office.
