The Union of Arab Banks holds an Arab regional conference on investment and reconstruction in Syria in Amman on 21 and 22 September 2026. The two day meeting brings together bankers, investors, policymakers and development institutions from across the Arab world to examine how capital and banking services can be mobilised for Syria's recovery.

The conference is convened by the Union of Arab Banks, the Beirut based association of Arab banking institutions, and is being held in the Jordanian capital. The organiser has not published a venue at the time of writing, and the event's title is published in Arabic, so any English rendering, including the one used here, is a translation.

The agenda is expected to cover the financing of reconstruction, the role of Arab banks in trade and correspondent banking with Syria, the compliance and sanctions environment that governs such flows, and the investment opportunities that regional companies see in infrastructure, energy, housing and services. Jordanian and Gulf banks with cross border franchises are natural participants, as are the multilateral lenders active in the Levant.

For chief executives and boards of Arab banks, the meeting is one of the first structured regional forums on the commercial dimension of Syria's reconstruction. It matters for treasury, compliance and correspondent banking heads who need to understand the evolving risk framework, and for the leadership of construction, logistics and energy companies weighing early entry. Readers should treat conclusions from the conference as indications of intent rather than commitments until backed by regulatory and financing decisions.
