DASH Technology Group has appointed Glenn Poynton as its chief executive, placing a veteran of Australia's platform and wealth technology sector at the head of the fintech.

The appointment was announced on 12 August 2026. DASH is an Australian wealth management technology business that supplies software and platform infrastructure to financial advice firms.

Poynton arrives with senior experience at Betashares, Class and Macquarie Group. He finished as executive director of corporate development at Betashares in December 2025. Before that he spent more than three years at Class as chief strategy officer.

His tenure at Macquarie Group ran for 18 years and included roles such as division director, wealth product strategy, and head of commercial management for Macquarie Wrap. He has also worked extensively as a consultant to the platform sector, giving him exposure to the competitive dynamics that DASH now operates in.

DASH chair Geoff Lloyd said the arrival marked an important milestone as the company continues to execute its growth strategy. "We are fortunate to have Glenn onboard to lead DASH on our journey to develop a new advice model that gives Australians access to the financial planning and investment administration services they need," Lloyd said.

Lloyd added that Poynton "has worked in both mature and start-up businesses in Australia and overseas, and has the broad skills and experience needed to continue executing our strategy to deliver innovative whole-of-wealth solutions to advisers and clients".

The appointment lands amid a period of expansion at the company. DASH added Sarah Murray as chief product officer and James Louw as chief growth officer earlier this year, building out a senior team ahead of the chief executive hire.

The business is also raising fresh capital. Bailador Technology Investments is investing up to 5 million dollars in the current round, which is being completed at a valuation 21 per cent above its original investment cost and 23 per cent below the current carrying value. Bailador said the pricing reflected current market conditions. DASH has said the raise is intended to drive further automation, accelerate its direct and partnership go-to-market strategies and ultimately achieve profitability.

The group has been broadening its footprint through acquisition as well. In 2025 it acquired Integrated Portfolio Solutions and entered a strategic partnership with global alternatives fintech S64. That business now trades as DASH Private, a non-custodial platform designed for private clients, family offices and investment professionals.

Poynton takes the role following the departure of Andrew Whelan, who stepped down after nearly five years as chief executive and left the company in May. Whelan joined the business in 2021 as chief distribution officer, when the company was operating as Wealth02.

The transition gives DASH a chief executive with direct experience of the platform market it is targeting, at a point when the company is simultaneously integrating an acquisition, funding further product automation and pursuing scale in the Australian advice market.
