HSBC have promoted Mehdi Benabdallah and Fayez Mazhar Khan to Managing Director, Co-Heads of Mergers and Acquisitions, MENAT.
Medhi, who is based in Riyadh, joined HSBC in Dubai during 2008 as an Associate within the M&A team and subsequently risen through their ranks with promotions to VP, Director and in April 2022 to Managing Director which coincided with his relocation to HSBC's Riyadh office to oversee M&A in the Kingdom.
Prior to his career with HSBC, Medhi spent two years as an Analyst of TMT Mergers and Acquisitions at Calyon Corporate and Investment Bank in Paris having also initially gained experience as a Credit Analyst at Crédit Lyonnais also in Paris.
Fayez, who is based in Dubai, joined HSBC in 2023 as MD within the MENAT Investment Banking team.
He previously spent almost 8 years with Goldman Sachs, joining as an Associate before being promoted to Executive Director within thier investment banking team in Dubai, a role he held for over 5 years.
Prior to this he started his investment banking career at Credit Suisse. During his 5 years he was initially in London before spending 2 years in Qatar and then latterly moving to Dubai in 2015.
