Abu Dhabi Investment Council (ADIC) has appointed infrastructure investment veteran Edward Winter as its new Chief Investment Officer.
In his new role, Winter will oversee ADIC’s investment activities across global infrastructure and real estate, bringing more than two decades of experience in the energy, digital and transport infrastructure sectors.
Winter joins ADIC from Global Infrastructure Partners (GIP), a BlackRock subsidiary, where he spent more than seven years as a partner. Based between London and Singapore during his tenure, he was responsible for originating, structuring, executing and managing infrastructure investments across Europe and the Middle East.
At GIP, Winter led or worked on a number of high-profile infrastructure transactions, including investments in Adnoc Oil Pipelines, Aramco Gas Pipelines, Jafurah Midstream Gas Company, Medgaz, Calisen, Kellas Midstream and Tata Renewable Energy.
Prior to joining GIP in 2018, Winter served as a managing director at Macquarie Capital, where he led the firm’s European conventional energy business within its energy and infrastructure group.
ADIC, which was established in 2007 and is wholly owned by Mubadala Investment Company, manages investments on behalf of the Abu Dhabi government.
