Naqi Water Company reappointed Ameen Abdullah Al-Mallah as Chairman and Youssef Al-Qafari as Vice Chairman in June 2026, signalling continuity atop Saudi Arabia's leading filtered water producer just months after the bottling company moved to separate its board from executive management. The Tadawul-listed beverages firm, which went public in 2022, made the changes through its newly elected board of directors as it expanded the chairman's governance role while installing a dedicated chief executive officer in the operating structure.

The reappointments followed Naqi Water's appointment of Abdulaziz Youssef Al-Sayegh as Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, completing a leadership restructuring at the company. The changes reflected the company's transition to a more conventional corporate governance model, separating the ceremonial and strategic board role from day-to-day executive responsibility. No search firm involvement was disclosed in the announcements or regulatory filings reviewed.

Al-Mallah, 50 years old and based in Unaizah in the Qassim region, founded Naqi Water as a sole proprietorship in April 2014 before converting it to a limited liability company three years later. He holds the position of Deputy Chairman at Saudi Arabia's Chamber of Commerce and Industry since 2019 and has served as chairman of Al Arabi Sport Club since the same year, indicating his broader involvement in Saudi business and sports circles. According to regulatory filings, Al-Sayegh holds a bachelor's degree and MBA in business administration and previously participated in the Saudi Young Leaders Exchange Program in the United States, bringing experience in management, strategic planning and business sustainability across industrial, retail and services sectors prior to joining Naqi in 2017.

Naqi Water Company engages in the production and bottling of pure filtered drinking water sold in 600-millilitre, 330-millilitre and 200-millilitre bottles, with operations spanning wholesale, retail and distribution channels across Saudi Arabia and neighbouring Gulf markets. The company was incorporated in 2014 and is headquartered in Unaizah, with branches also in Riyadh. It operates as one of the leading players in Saudi Arabia's water production and bottling sector and has expanded to diversified operations including soft drinks, juices and agricultural production. The company achieved public listing status on the Saudi exchange in 2022.

The June 2026 reappointments signal the board's confidence in Al-Mallah's continued stewardship during a phase of governance professionalisation. By installing Al-Sayegh as a dedicated chief executive, Naqi Water appears to be adopting best practices in corporate structure that many institutional investors increasingly expect of public companies. This governance shift may indicate management's assessment that the company has matured beyond its founder-led operating model, though Al-Mallah's retention as chairman preserves his strategic influence over a business he established from inception. The appointments occurred in the context of a broader Saudi business environment increasingly focused on corporate governance standards as Vision 2030 economic reforms continue.
