Tony Ashraf

Tony Ashraf is Managing Director and globally responsible for Digital Asset Transformation at BlackRock, where he spearheads the firm's digital asset strategy as the world's largest asset manager. In this role, he partners both internally and across the industry to leverage blockchain to disrupt traditional operating models, with a focus on partnerships, scale creation and product innovation.

His work includes the firm's efforts around DLT to redefine market infrastructure, tokenization and developing institutional-grade cryptoassets solutions. At Binance Blockchain Week in Dubai, Ashraf emphasized that stablecoins had become a central element of modern financial infrastructure and would shape the future of payments and value transfer. He noted that wallet infrastructure will be critical to how people interact with financial services in the future.

Tony's experience spans across both the buy and sell side, having worked in various Operational, Technology, Project Management, Business Management and Client Service roles in the UK, Japan, China, Singapore and Hungary. Since May 2013, Tony Ashraf has served as Managing Director at BlackRock, currently leading the Global Head of Digital Asset Transformation while previously overseeing various critical areas such as Derivative Operations and Collateral Management.
