Oliver Williams

Oliver Williams is a Senior Managing Director in FTI Consulting's Strategic Communications segment and is based in Dubai. In July 2024, he was appointed Head of the Strategic Communications segment in the Middle East, where he leads the division's business strategy, oversees service offerings and client portfolio, leads practice development, and spearheads expansion plans.

Williams holds a BA Hons in History and Politics from the University of Exeter. His career has focused on helping energy companies use communications to deliver commercial objectives. Between 2014 and 2019, he was seconded to FTI Consulting's US Energy and Natural Resources Practice, where he primarily focused on developing and executing complex, multi-faceted advocacy programmes aimed at influencing policy. Working with leading energy companies, he led campaigns that successfully impacted federal regulations across areas including offshore development, US LNG exports, and Securities and Exchange Commission corporate governance.

Career History

• 2008-present: FTI Consulting – Started by helping launch the firm's London Energy and Low Carbon offer; progressed to Senior Managing Director
• Leadership roles in London and Washington, D.C. offices, focusing on energy sector communications
• Experience in European Parliament and UK House of Commons, having worked in offices of MEPs and the UK Secretary of State for Health
