Madiha Sattar

Madiha Sattar was appointed as Managing Director and Growth Ventures Partner at BNY in a newly created global role based in the UAE. In this role, she joins the leadership team of BNY's Growth Ventures business, which harnesses the company's scaled platforms to build new businesses at the intersection of technology, data, and investment solutions. As Growth Ventures Partner, Sattar plays a strategic role working with clients in the region to build and invest in regional and global opportunities across financial-markets data and analytics, wealth technology, and alternative-assets data and distribution.

Sattar brings over 20 years of industry experience across operating and strategy roles. At Careem, the MENA region's largest tech exit, she built and led several new businesses including B2B and B2C fintech. As VP of Careem Pay, she led strategy development and key partnerships for Careem's fintech arm and was instrumental in developing the Careem Super App. Prior to Careem, she spent time at JPMorgan Chase and McKinsey & Company in New York. Her professional background also includes leadership positions at Moby Group, Lehman Brothers, and Goldman Sachs.

Sattar holds the distinction of being one of 25 experts selected by Dubai leadership as a Dubai Future Fellow to advise on sectors relevant to the city's future. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in History & Literature from Harvard University. Before her corporate roles, she worked as a journalist covering political, security, and social issues in Pakistan.
