John Donnelly

John Donnelly is the Global Head of Placement for Marsh, a role he has held since January 1, 2024. In this role, he has global responsibility for Marsh's retail and wholesale broking activities, and works closely with Marsh Specialty's regional placement leaders to advance its global placement strategy and lead digital market engagement initiatives.

Donnelly has over forty years' international experience in placement, risk and insurance, and began his career with Marsh in 1983. He is recognized as one of the leading and most respected placement brokers in the global market, with depth of experience in structuring complex placements and designing innovative client-focused solutions.

Donnelly is based in London after relocating from Sydney, where he had been serving as Head of Placement for Asia Pacific since returning to Marsh in 2013. John Donnelly and Pat Donnelly are unrelated.
