John C. Roche

John C. Roche has served as President and Chief Executive Officer of The Hanover Insurance Group since October 2017. He brings a distinguished 40-year career in the insurance industry. With more than 30 years of property and casualty industry experience, Roche was initially appointed CEO in October 2017.

Roche joined The Hanover in 2006 and progressed through multiple senior leadership roles. Before his appointment as CEO, he served as President of Hanover Agency Markets, where he was responsible for the company's personal and commercial lines business and led efforts to expand business through agent partners. He also held positions as President of Business Insurance and Vice President of Field Operations, Marketing and Distribution across both personal and commercial lines, as well as Vice President of Underwriting and Product Management for commercial lines.
