Jochen Thewes

Jochen Thewes was appointed CEO of AD Ports Group's Logistics Cluster effective December 1, 2025, taking the helm of the company's largest operational cluster by international reach. Born in 1971 and based in Germany, Thewes is an internationally recognized supply chain and logistics expert with more than 20 years of senior management expertise, having built a career across three continents in increasingly global roles.

For nearly a decade, Thewes served as CEO and Management Board Chairman of Deutsche Bahn's DB Schenker, one of the world's top logistics players with EUR 19.2 billion in revenue in 2024. He played an instrumental role in the company's sale in April 2025 to Danish transport and logistics leader DSV A/S, a deal that ranks as one of the largest-ever in the industry. Prior to becoming CEO, he served as Chief Executive Officer in Singapore from 2011, overseeing 13,000 employees across 200 locations in 20 countries in the Asia/Pacific region, and was Senior Vice President of Global Ocean Freight based in Essen, Germany.

Before joining DB Schenker, Thewes held various senior management positions within Kuehne + Nagel, spending more than twelve years in different functions in Asia and Latin America, including President of the company in Brazil, General Manager for Central China in Shanghai, Chief Representative in Vietnam, as well as roles in Hong Kong and New York. He holds a Diplom Betriebswirt (business administration degree) from Fachhochschule Heilbronn, earned between 1994 and 1997.
