Dr. Patrick Allman-Ward

Dr. Patrick Adrian Allman-Ward is a British geologist and petroleum industry executive who led Dana Gas PJSC, the Middle East's leading publicly-listed natural gas company, as Group Chief Executive Officer. Born October 24, 1955, in Bangkok, Thailand, Allman-Ward spent his early years in Jakarta and Istanbul before continuing his education in the UK.

Allman-Ward studied geology at Durham University, pursued an MSc in Mineral Exploration and Mining Geology at Leicester University (graduating 1977), and earned his PhD in Mining Geology from the Royal School of Mines, Imperial College London, in 1981. He is a member of the American Association of Petroleum Geology (AAPG), the European Association of Geoscientists and Engineers (EAGE), the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE) and the South-East Asia Petroleum Exploration Society (SEAPEX). He was included in Forbes' list of the 50 Most Influential Expats in the UAE in 2018.

Career History

• Shell International (1982–2012): Started career in 1982 and held senior management roles as Vice-President Exploration for Asia-Pacific, CEO and Board Member of the South Rub Al Khali Company, Vice-President of New Business Development in Saudi Arabia and New Ventures Execution Manager for Europe
• Dana Gas Egypt, General Manager and Country Chairman (August 2012–September 2013)
• Dana Gas Group, Chief Executive Officer (September 2013–November 2023); also served as executive member of the Board of Directors (2015–2018)
• Executive Chairman and CEO of Petroleum Industry Consultation business (2024–present); Vice Chairman of United Terra Enterprises; Chairman of Terra Mining
