Datuk Hisham Hamdan

Datuk Hisham Hamdan serves as Chairman of Jelawang Capital, a fund-of-funds focused on nurturing Malaysia's venture capital ecosystem. Jelawang Capital is a wholly owned subsidiary of Khazanah Nasional. He was appointed Chief Investment Officer of Khazanah Nasional effective March 6, 2024, leading the strategic direction of its Investments Division.

Hisham holds a dual degree in Chemical Engineering and Industrial Management from Purdue University and has attended the Harvard Business School's Advanced Management Programme. He spent the first 12 years of his career as an equity analyst and investment banker. With over 30 years of experience spanning financial, strategic, and societal domains, his career covers leadership across portfolio management and sectors spanning more than 20 countries.

Datuk Hisham Hamdan joined Khazanah in April 2011 from Sime Darby Berhad. At Sime Darby, he held several executive positions including Executive Vice President & Managing Director for Energy & Utilities and Executive Vice President for Strategy & Business Development. Since 2018, he served as Head of Public Markets at Khazanah with a mandate to invest in more than 10 countries, and was previously responsible for the automotive, agrifood and Iskandar Malaysia portfolios. In August 2024, he was appointed Chairman of UEM Group Berhad.
