Boris Steffen

Boris J. Steffen is a Managing Director in the corporate restructuring practice of Province, specializing in accounting, finance, valuation, solvency and damages analyses. He has served as a consulting and testifying expert for holders of interests and claims in disputes involving mergers, acquisitions, divestitures and restructurings in excess of $240 billion. Matters in which he has consulted or testified have included antitrust and competition policy, appraisal, bankruptcy and restructuring, bribery, corruption and financial statement fraud, breach of contract, intellectual property, international trade and arbitration, and securities regulation.

Steffen earned a Master of Management degree with specializations in accounting and finance from the Kellogg School of Management of Northwestern University, and a Bachelor of Science degree in finance, and Bachelor of Music degree in trumpet performance, from DePaul University. He holds the Certified Public Accountant (Virginia License # 46485), Accredited Senior Appraiser, Accredited in Business Valuation, Certificate in Distressed Business Valuation and Chartered Global Management Accountant certifications. He has lectured for the American University Washington College of Law and University of San Diego School of Law and spoken at conferences and authored articles published by the American Bar Association, American Bankruptcy Institute, Association of Insolvency & Restructuring Advisors, Financier Worldwide, International Legal Alliance Summit & Awards, Law360.com and National Conference of Bankruptcy Judges.

Steffen is the President-Elect and member of the Board of Directors of the Association of Insolvency & Restructuring Advisors, a past Co-Chair of the Appraisal & Valuation Sub-Committee of the ABA Section of Litigation, Expert Witness Committee, a Co-Editor of the Association of Insolvency & Restructuring Advisors Journal, and a Co-coordinating Editor of the Value & Cents column of the American Bankruptcy Institute Journal.
