A. Morris Tooker

A. Morris Tooker, known as Mo Tooker, is chief executive officer elect of The Hartford Insurance Group, the Connecticut-based property and casualty insurer, taking the role at the beginning of March 2027. He is currently the company's president and joined its board of directors on 1 October 2026. Tooker is an underwriter by background, with a career divided between reinsurance and primary property and casualty insurance.

Tooker joined The Hartford in 2015 as chief underwriting officer and has served in successively more responsible leadership roles over the past eleven years. He was appointed president in 2025, leading business performance, strategy and enterprise-wide execution. Before joining The Hartford he spent his career at General Reinsurance Corporation, which he joined in 1991 in property facultative underwriting and where he rose to lead the global property and casualty reinsurance business. He spent twelve years of that career based in the United Kingdom.
