The Sharjah International Book Fair returns to Expo Centre Sharjah for its forty-fifth edition, running from the fourth to the fifteenth of November, in the year 2026. The fair is organised by the Sharjah Book Authority, and Oman has been named guest of honour for this edition.

The fair is one of the largest book events in the world by visitor numbers and by titles on display, and its professional programme is the part that matters to executives rather than to general readers. A publishers conference runs ahead of the public opening and brings rights buyers, agents, distributors and translation houses into the same room, which makes the fair the principal annual rights market for the Arabic-language publishing industry and a working trade event rather than a cultural showcase alone.

For the emirate the fair is also a cornerstone of a creative-industries strategy that Sharjah has pursued for two decades, alongside Sharjah Publishing City and a sustained programme of literary prizes and translation grants. Naming Oman guest of honour continues a pattern of using the slot to deepen commercial and cultural ties with a single market, and it gives Omani publishers a concentrated route to Gulf distribution.

Expo Centre Sharjah is the emirate's principal exhibition venue, in the Al Taawun district beside Khalid Lagoon, and it carries a calendar of some ninety-five exhibitions across the year. Attendance details and the full programme are published by the organiser. Executive Moves lists the event for calendar completeness and will update this entry if the organiser changes the dates or the venue.
