NAB Show New York Returns to the Javits Center This Week

NAB Show New York opens at the Javits Center this week, running across two days on the twenty first and twenty second of October. The year is 2026. The conference programme begins a day earlier than the exhibition floor.

The event is the eastern counterpart to the National Association of Broadcasters' much larger spring gathering in Las Vegas, and it serves a different constituency. Where the Nevada show is built around the global equipment supply chain, the New York edition is pitched squarely at the media, advertising and content businesses clustered in the north east of the United States. That makes it a commercial meeting as much as a technical one, and the attendee list skews towards buyers of media services rather than manufacturers of them.

For senior executives the value sits in the compression. Broadcast, streaming, advertising technology and production services are converging on the same set of questions about distribution economics, and New York is where the people who set budgets in those businesses are already based. A two day show in Manhattan costs a chief executive a fraction of the time a week on the west coast would, which is why attendance at the New York edition has held up even as trade show attendance generally has not.

The Javits Center has hosted the event for several cycles and its West Side location keeps it within reach of the Midtown and downtown media offices that supply most of the audience. The National Association of Broadcasters organises both editions.

Executive Moves tracks senior appointments and corporate developments across the media and broadcasting sector, and events of this kind are frequently where leadership changes are first signalled.
