The Institutional Investor Abu Dhabi Summit 2026 takes place at the Four Seasons Hotel on Al Maryah Island on 7 October 2026. The one day, closed door summit is organised by Institutional Investor and co chaired by Mubadala Capital and CFA Society Emirates. It has been held in the emirate for more than a decade and connects Gulf sovereign wealth funds, pension funds and insurers with global asset managers.
The format is deliberately intimate. Sessions are held off the record and attendance is limited to senior investment professionals, which allows allocators to compare notes on portfolio construction, private markets, manager selection and governance without public reporting. Global asset managers attend to meet the region's largest pools of capital in a single setting.
Abu Dhabi hosts several of the world's largest sovereign investors, and Al Maryah Island is home to Abu Dhabi Global Market, the international financial centre through which many international managers have established a regional presence. The summit sits two months ahead of Abu Dhabi Finance Week, the emirate's larger public finance gathering in December.
For chief investment officers, heads of asset management and boards of investment institutions, the summit is one of the few venues in the Gulf where allocator to allocator conversation is the point. Executives at asset managers seeking Gulf mandates regard an invitation as a measure of standing with regional institutions. Leadership moves at sovereign funds and family offices are often visible first in who represents each institution at gatherings of this kind.
