State Super, the New South Wales public sector superannuation scheme administered by SAS Trustee Corporation, has named Daniel Kicuroski as a member of its board. The trustee said the appointment would add to its governance structure.
Kicuroski is state director of the New South Wales branch of the Pharmacy Guild of Australia. He joins the board bringing government, union and sector leadership experience, the fund said.
Alongside his current role at the Pharmacy Guild of Australia, Kicuroski has held board positions across the community and pharmacy sectors. He has also held executive roles with Transport NSW, the NSW Department of Education, the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Radiologists and the Transport Workers Union.
State Super said Kicuroski brings experience in member value, institutional strategy and risk management across regulated environments, with operational and strategic expertise relevant to the fund's long term sustainability and to fiduciary oversight of New South Wales public sector members.
New South Wales Treasurer Daniel Mookhey said Kicuroski's experience across government, the union movement and different sectors would support the work of the board.
"Kicuroski has deep experience working in government, with the union movement and across different sectors that mean he is well-suited to contribute to the State Super board," Mookhey said.
State Super chief executive John Livanas said the new director's skills and focus on members would complement the existing board as the organisation navigates a demanding operating environment.
"We are pleased to welcome Daniel to the board. His depth of skills and commitment to members will complement the board in supporting our organisation in a complex and challenging environment. We look forward to working with him," Livanas said.
The appointment continues a period of board renewal at the trustee. Earlier this year State Super named former superannuation chief executive Michael Dwyer as chair of its board, effective 1 September, in an orderly handover from acting chair Catherine Bolder. Dwyer brings more than three decades of experience across superannuation, investment management and financial services.
State Super is administered by SAS Trustee Corporation, which acts as trustee for the New South Wales public sector schemes it oversees. The board carries fiduciary responsibility for those members and for the long term sustainability of the fund, both of which the trustee cited in describing the value of the new appointment.
The appointment was announced on 2 September 2026. Neither the state government nor the trustee disclosed the length of the term or the committees Kicuroski will sit on.
