Marcel Schramm has been appointed Country Director of ZetaDisplay Austria, succeeding founder Jonas Wilhelm as the company completes its integration into Swedish digital signage giant ZetaDisplay. The appointment, effective immediately following the rebranding of the Austrian subsidiary from Peakmedia Digital Signage GmbH, represents a critical leadership transition as the European consolidation strategy accelerates across the DACH region and Eastern Europe. The move underscores ZetaDisplay's broader push to harmonise its acquisitions under a unified corporate identity while maintaining local market expertise, a balancing act that CEO Daniel Nergård has emphasised as central to the group's "One Zeta" integration programme launched under his leadership.
Schramm succeeds Wilhelm, who founded Peakmedia in 2012 before the Austrian specialist was acquired by ZetaDisplay in September 2023 as part of a strategic consolidation drive that has elevated the Nordic integrator's DACH revenues by approximately 40 to 50 percent. The rebranding follows similar integrations conducted across ZetaDisplay's European footprint, including the acquisition of Swedish competitor Ubiq in 2025 and earlier purchases in Germany and the United Kingdom. Schramm brings extensive experience in technology and communications sectors, with specialist knowledge in collaboration solutions and digital signage. He will oversee operations from the company's facility in Ebbs, Austria, where Peakmedia has managed approximately 9,000 active installations across the DACH region and Eastern Europe since the acquisition. No search firm involvement was disclosed in the appointment announcement.
Schramm has developed a track record in enterprise technology environments, according to his professional profile, which highlights his experience navigating complex implementation and customer engagement scenarios. His earlier career included roles in technology infrastructure and communications solutions, though specific prior employers remain unpublished. LinkedIn records reference his involvement with Ricoh Austria GmbH, and colleague testimonials praise his pragmatic problem-solving approach, sales capability, and ability to maintain composure under pressure. His appointment represents a generational shift for Peakmedia, which had operated as a founder-led business emphasising close customer relationships and technical depth before its acquisition by the larger European group.
ZetaDisplay, headquartered in Malmö, Sweden, operates one of Europe's largest digital signage networks with over 125,000 active displays across more than 50 countries and annual revenues exceeding SEK 600 million (approximately USD 56 million). The company delivers end-to-end solutions spanning strategy, software, hardware integration, content creation and managed services across retail, public spaces, corporate and advertising environments. ZetaDisplay's proprietary Engage Suite software platform forms the technological foundation for its enterprise positioning. Under Nergård, who took office in October 2025, the company has sharpened its focus on large multinational customers seeking unified digital signage ecosystems and increasingly on retail media networks, a rapidly expanding segment where data-driven engagement drives measurable ROI.
Schramm's appointment signals ZetaDisplay's confidence in accelerating growth within the Austrian market and suggests the company believes it can extend ZetaDisplay's full-service platform capabilities to Peakmedia's established customer base. Schramm stated in his remarks that the combination of local market knowledge with ZetaDisplay's international scale, software platform and managed services capabilities creates a distinct competitive positioning in Austria. His emphasis on retail media growth opportunities, specifically citing relationships with major retailers including Austrian grocery chain SPAR, implies ZetaDisplay intends to lever Peakmedia's customer relationships for higher-margin recurring revenue streams. The appointment also reflects potential confidence in Schramm's ability to navigate the operational complexities of integrating a previously independent business into a larger multinational structure, a task that has tested other ZetaDisplay executives given three CEO transitions at group level in less than two years.
