Anthony Palladino, Chief Financial Officer of NextGen Healthcare

NextGen Healthcare has appointed Anthony Palladino as Chief Financial Officer, bringing in a software industry finance executive with a private equity background to run the finances of the ambulatory care technology business.

The company announced the appointment on 23 October 2026, in a release carrying a Detroit dateline. Palladino, who is known as Tony, joins the leadership team.

He arrives with more than 30 years of financial and operational leadership in enterprise software and technology. His most recent post was at Thoma Bravo, the software focused investment firm, where he was an operating partner working with the leadership teams of portfolio companies on financial operations, operating efficiency and profitable growth across the firm's software holdings.

Before that he was chief financial officer of Elemica, a private equity backed cloud based digital supply network serving global process industries. The company said he led the finance organisation there through a period of accelerated growth and through a value creation outcome.

Srinivas Velamoor, president and chief executive, welcomed Palladino to the leadership team. Palladino said he was joining at an important moment for the business.

The shape of the hire is as informative as the hire itself. Palladino's career has been built in enterprise software and in investor owned businesses rather than in healthcare delivery, which points to a finance brief organised around software economics: recurring revenue, retention, margin structure and the discipline of operating under an investor's value creation plan. For a business selling technology into outpatient medical practices, those are the levers that determine whether scale turns into profit.

The operating partner experience is the distinguishing part of the record. An operating partner at a software investor works across a portfolio rather than inside a single company, diagnosing finance functions and repairing them under time pressure. That is a different discipline from running one finance organisation through a cycle, and it tends to produce executives who arrive with a settled set of operating metrics and a bias toward installing them quickly.

The appointment also fits a wider pattern in health technology, where companies that began as clinical software vendors increasingly recruit finance leadership from the broader enterprise software market rather than from providers or payers. The reasoning is that the financial model of a subscription software business is closer to that of its software peers than to that of the practices it serves.

The release named no predecessor and gave no effective date for the appointment, and it did not set out what the company expects Palladino to deliver in his first year.
