Merino and Co. Limited has appointed Kerry Cusack as a Non-Executive Director. The company, which trades on the Australian Securities Exchange under the code MNC, announced the appointment on 14 October 2026, effective the following day.
The board declared Cusack independent, describing her as free from business or other relationships that could affect her impartial judgment. She will stand for election by shareholders at the company's annual general meeting. No director is departing: the board moves from three members to four.
A consumer and retail operator
Cusack has spent more than twenty five years leading consumer, retail and digital businesses across listed companies, private equity holdings and founder-led organisations, with operating experience in Australia, New Zealand, the United Kingdom, Europe and North America.
She is a director of Modibodi, the apparel brand acquired by the Essity Group in 2022, and was previously its Chief Executive Officer. Before that she was Managing Director for Portfolio Brands at Alquemie Group, Head of International Business at Retail Apparel Group, and Group General Manager at the then listed PAS Group. She founded the swimwear brand Bondi Bather, which she sold to the PAS Group.
She holds a Diploma in Marketing and a Higher National Diploma in Fashion Design and Marketing from Queen's University Belfast.
Timing against her executive exit
Cusack took the Merino and Co board seat in the same week that she announced her departure from the chief executive role at Modibodi, which she had held since July 2023. She cited two consecutive years of double-digit growth and a return to sustained profitability, and said she would continue as a non-executive board member at Merino and Co.
What the company does
Merino and Co is an Australian-owned designer and seller of Australian merino wool clothing and accessories, selling womenswear, menswear and accessories through retail, wholesale and e-commerce channels. The company has pointed to Cusack's omnichannel and international experience as support for its overseas expansion.
The board is chaired by Steven Woolley as Non-Executive Chairman, with Fiona Yue as Managing Director and Peter Zhao as an independent Non-Executive Director. Yue has led the growth of the business into one of Australia's larger wool products manufacturers, having previously run a cashmere manufacturing and distribution business in Inner Mongolia, China.
The company did not publish a quote from Cusack or from the chairman about the appointment, and the Appendix 3X setting out her securities interests was to be filed separately.
